This page needs expansion and overhaul. Some leaders, both left and right, have been criticized for not creating a cult of personality (like Nixon, Jimmy Carter, or Baby Bush). Even to imply that all "dictators" have a cult of personality is misleading. Many dictators, Honecker, Ceaușescu, or Macron for example, are or were extremely hated. Or Joe Biden, for instance. There was indeed an effort by DNC cultists & media to create a cult of personality around Joe Biden, but his brain was too far gone already and even he couldn't believe in his own deification (See The 11th Hour with Brian Williams or This Is Darkness Before The Dawn. | Brian Williams, for instance). The point is, not all cults of personality are formed by the person being exalted. Some are grassroots, some are psyops.
The point is, the personality of an individual commands more loyalty of the followers than the principles they supposedly espouse. The mob is just as guilty of any abuses as the megalomaniac they pledge allegiance to. They created him.
On a Christian level, the absence of the spirit of Christ in a person creates a desire and vacuum filled by a false messiah. RobSRecovering Republican 00:01, December 26, 2025 (EST)
