Positive involvement in the Civil Rights Movement? Barry Goldwater opposing the Civil Rights Act... That doesn't mean anything to you guys? Or are the facts simply something you like to leave at the door before you come in? McCain08 13:31, 17 March 2008 (EDT)

Question

Is there anything else that can be added to this article? As of right now, it's one long list saying "We let Black people into our club" and seems out of place... I am not familiar with the Republican party to the extent where I can do muc. JDavidsonLeave a message ::BEEP:: 21:59, 27 May 2008 (EDT)

Colin Powell

Isn't leaving Colin Powell on here a bit of a stretch? He did endorse Obama, after all.

good point but Powell said he was a Republican who endorsed Obama. In any case Powell has been active in GOP circles for many years. RJJensen 16:30, 1 February 2009 (EST)
Fair point, but perhaps a caveat is in order. He may identify as a Republican, but he's definitely willing to cross party lines. ArthurA 16:41, 1 February 2009 (EST)
