Talk:Bill Cassidy

Former Dukakis supporter

So it seems that Cassidy was once a liberal-leaning Democrat who supported Dukakis. Does anyone else know any other details about his background in terms of political viewpoints prior to being a Republican that would be good to add to the article? —LT^{May D.C., his mother, and I.S. be all well!} Sunday, 12:56, 14 February 2021 (EST)

I added his vote to impeach Trump. The Louisiana Republican Party has stated: We condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the vote today by Sen. Cassidy to convict former President Trump. Fortunately, clearer heads prevailed and President Trump has been acquitted of the impeachment charge filed against him. -- --CharlesShirley (talk) 15:32, 14 February 2021 (EST)

Thank you CharlesShirley, though the detail was already added in the "117th Congress" section. I'll do a copyedit on that later.

In regards to Cassidy showing his true colors, that's an excellent point to bring up. His previous liberal background and his support for mandatory vaccination seem to me as clues to a puzzle regarding his viewpoints that may very well be relevant to this anti-Trump vote. —LT^{May D.C., his mother, and I.S. be all well!} Sunday, 16:56, 14 February 2021 (EST)
