Rewrite

Although a lot of work has gone into this article, and in some ways there is not a lot wrong with it, I don't think it's suits its purpose, or at least the purpose of this encyclopaedia. It's not written in an encyclopaedic way, but rather a bit more like a sermon. And some of the language is not what the average modern reader will be used to.

I think this article should be an overview of the history contained in the Bible for a person who is unfamiliar with that history. The current article is something like that, but not quite there.

I've been thinking about a total rewrite of it for some time, and have now started drafting something. I just thought I'd mention it here in case anyone wants to put a case forward for keeping the current article.
