It should be noted, ancient Israel was a theocracy. There was no separation of powers. The King was anointed by the Prophet. So the meaning of "leaders" actually refers to religious leaders (later in the NT referred to as "Pharisees"). RobSGive Peace a chance 17:45, January 8, 2023 (EST)
