Islamic fascist Republic of Iran was at "peace" with US since 1979?

Iran began its anti-US war when taking hostages. They never ceased anti US activities.

Since 1979, the Iranian regime and its proxies have been responsible for the deaths of well over 1,000 American soldiers and civilians, according to estimates cited in 2026.

While some figures focus strictly on military combat fatalities, others include citizens killed in terrorist attacks or kidnapped by Iranian-backed groups. Major Incidents & High-Fatality Events (1979–2026).

Iraq War (2003–2011): The U.S. Department of Defense has identified at least 603 U.S. service member deaths in Iraq attributable to Iran-backed militant groups. These deaths resulted from explosively formed penetrators (EFPs), improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and rocket attacks.

Beirut Barracks Bombing (1983): Hezbollah, a Lebanese group backed by Iran, bombed the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, killing 241 American personnel.

Khobar Towers Bombing (1996): Iran-backed Hezbollah Al-Hijaz carried out a truck bombing in Saudi Arabia, killing 19 U.S. Airmen.

October 7 Attacks (2023): Iran-backed Hamas terrorists killed 46 American citizens, according to reports.

Other Attacks: Numerous other deaths have occurred, including: 2001–2020: Attacks on U.S. forces in Afghanistan, with Iran-backed proxies (including aiding the Taliban) resulting in dozens of deaths. 2019/2023: Deaths of American contractors in Iraq/Syria by Iranian proxies. 2026 Iran War: As of early April 2026, reports indicated at least 13 U.S. service members were killed in hostile actions related to increased conflict with Iran.

Total Estimates. Various analysts and reports have placed the total number of American deaths linked to Iran and its proxies—including service members, civilians, and government personnel—at over 1,000. A report reviewing the history up to early 2026 estimated "over 900 Americans" had been killed in incidents directly linked to Iran, not including all potential victims in Afghanistan or during the 2026 conflict escalation.
