Origins of this Page
I created this page after I started innocently editing the same page on Wikipedia only to see everything I added being removed by the Editors who:
- 1. Accused me of "original research" and deleted my work without putting up an "Original Research banner" or a[Citation Needed] flag which is the normal procedure prior to deletion to ask others to qualify by referencing these assertions.
- 2. The editors seemed solely interested in maintaining their point of view that Darius the Mede was a fictional person to the extent that they would maintain references for things certain authors didn't say! I would call them out on it and they would simply refuse. Thus I accused them of Astroturfing and intellectual prostitution which you will find on the talk page there in the section wrongly named: "Original Research".
Therefore I vastly ported my edits and created this page which at time of writing is still a work in progress, but an effort on a subject where there is no academic consensus, I have sought to present all the positions of sceptics and the various attempts at historical harmonisation in as consise and reference manner as possible. If you find some of the sources to be questionable, please understand that they are there regardless of our personal beliefs on the subject to show the positions of others. You will also have to note that particularly in reference to "In the Book of Daniel" the subject mater is HEAVILY intertwined with the subject of Darius the Mede as one has a bearing upon the other. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by AnthonyPvanDuyn (talk)
- It looks rather similar to the WP page...did you copy the complete page including your edits here, or just the text you wrote? --DavidB4 (TALK) 19:36, 25 April 2020 (EDT)
- When you wrote this I copied the entirety and then started weeding out what wasn't mine and/or sufficiently rewording to be considered my own intellectual property over the next few days.--AnthonyPvanDuyn (talk) 14:45, 22 October 2020 (EDT)
