IMDb profile |
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi or Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is the eighth film in the main Star Wars saga, and the second of the Disney Trilogy. It was released on December 15, 2017. The film was Carrie Fisher's final film role, as she died on December 27, 2016. Her work on the film was completed before her death.
While the film received good reviews overall, many conservative reviewers did not like it as it promoted liberal values more explicitly than any of the other movies at the time (surpassing even the Prequel Triogy in terms of overt pushing of leftist politics).[1] As a result of various complaints by both conservatives as well as Star Wars fans, this resulted in several people involved at Lucasfilm Ltd., including J.J. Abrams, Rian Johnson, Chuck Wendig, and some others responding by making insulting accusations against their critics, such as implying that most of the viewers were only making the claim due to "feeling threatened by women" (despite Princess Leia being a popular character among Star Wars fans and in contemporary culture), revealing that many of them were adhering to the SJW agenda.[2]
