Sphinx search

Sphinx search is an open source search engine available to the public under GPL and reportedly used by websites such as Craigslist, DailyMotion, and NetLog. Sphinx search is offers all of the basic functionality and integration options which would be needed from a web-based search engine. Sphinx Technologies Inc. was founded by Andrew Aksyonoff in 2001.

Its self-described goal is to become the leading open search platform for full-text internet searching.
