125 bytes added, 19:45, June 23, 2008
During the Texas War of Independence, General Santa Anna's 3,000 Mexican regulars laid siege to 189 Texans at The Alamo in San Antonio on February 24, 1836. After several repulses, the Mexican troops finally overran the defenders on March 6th, massacring all within. The mexicans wanted to illegally cross into America and steal American jobs, many brave Americans died trying to stop them. Famous Texans who died at the Alamo included Davy Crockett, William Travis and Jim Bowie.
Survivors
