The Sabres were founded in the 1970-71 season and play in the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the [[NHL]] at home in the HSBC Arena. The future looks less certain as they lost their co-captains in the off season to trades. Many Canadians from Southwestern [[Ontario]] support the Buffalo Sabres because of the proximity to the people and the general love of Hockey in Canada. During home games regardless of the opponent, [[Oh Canada]], the Canadian national anthem is played along side the [[Star-Spangled Banner]].
