Though Hallmark removed the religious programming from the network and is generally apolitical in its fare, it has maintained a family-friendly approach to programming (going so far as to remove even mild pejorative words from its broadcasting) earning it a cult following, especially among females for its seemingly endless supply of romance films. And, its films are not adverse to including religious songs or imagery.
It is best known (along with sister network [[Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel]]) for its near endless supply of holiday-oriented romance films, especially [[Christmas film]]s. Even so, in 2019 its ratings surpassed that of 24-hour news channel [[CNN]].
