  '''My commentary:''' The "rump"/tougher Christians are the evangelical/conservatives/pentecostal Christians who are growing and have been for some time. They have above replacement level of births.
On the other hand, you are arguing for some strange reason that the liberal Christianity will die out forever. But things don't die forever. Eventually, things that are dying disappear or became very rare but stabilize.
