The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development is the head of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Established in 1965, as part of the President's cabinet, the HUD is in charge of urban and housing development programs, like Section 8 and Emergency Housing grants. The Current Secretary of Housing and Urban Development is Ben Carson.

The department had very bad finances, as could be seen during the Obama Administration.[1]
