Sea lions are carnivorous marine mammals with long slender bodies and short coarse hair. Sea lions are often mistaken as seals but there are a few notable differences. The flippers of a sea lion are much larger than those of a seal. Also, the hind flippers of a sea lion can move forward in order to aid terrestrial movement. Sea lions feed mainly on small fish, shellfish, and squid. They need to worry about predators such as sharks, orcas, and man.
