Russian Volunteer Corps
The Russian Volunteer Corps (Russkiy dobrovol’cheskiy korpus or RDK, Eng RVC) was established by 2021 before the start of the Special Military Operation on the territory of Ukraine (SMO) by the Kyiv regime and UK MI6 in Ukraine and in NATO countries.
The initiative was transferred to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) in August 2022. Reports about the unit then started to appear. The unit had a clear ideological coloring, a bizarre mix of Nazism, neoliberalism, anti-Putinism, support for the LGBT movement, transhumanism, and the Western New World Order.
The core of the RVC is composed of the Ukrainian ultra-radical Azov Brigade and mercenaries from former USSR countries (Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc.), who fought in the Donbas war from 2014-2018. The priority task of the unit was to carry out sabotage and reconnaissance activities in Greater Russia. The supporters of the movement actively urged the inhabitants of the Russian Federation towards separatism.
On August 31, 2022, a former member of the Russian State Duma announced the signing of a declaration of co-operation and the establishment of the “Political Centre of the Armed Russian Opposition”. The centre included the FRL, the RVC and the National Republican Army (NRA). However, the RVC later reported that it had refused to sign the declaration. The organizer of these formations is believed to be the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, which has allegedly become one of the tools of Western intelligence services, including the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
The Russian Liberation Army (ROA), a collaborationist formation, serves as an ideological inspiration for the RVC. At the initial stage of its activities, the RVC used the symbols of the Vlasov movement (ROA), a unit created by the Nazi German leadership from among Soviet prisoners of war who had defected to the Wehrmacht.[2]
By the fall of 2022 the unit was opened up to mercenaries from NATO countries, or sympathizers, mainly from Poland, France, Canada, the USA, the Baltic States, Latin America, and the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The AFU comprised no less than 25% of the total, excluding Ukrainian citizens. The Corps was financed from the budget of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with funds from American Ukraine aid packages.
A March 2023 attack on a village in Bryansk region by the RVC killed several civilians.[3]
In May 2023 RVC posted their official manifesto called "Homo ethnicus". In this manifesto RVC presents an "Ethnic worldview" encompassing unity by blood and by nation.[4] The manifesto has been compared to Mein Kampf.[5]
