Richard Cabell (d. July 5, 1677), sometimes known as Dirty Dick, was believed to be the inspiration for Hugo Baskerville, his tomb is believed to be haunted, as well as the church in which he is buried.
He was called an evil man as he is believed to have murdered his wife.
