Quora is a question-and-answer website. The website's community of users create, edit and organize its content. Quora was founded in June 2009.
While being different from Wikipedia, Quora also has its problems. Because members can upvote or downvote one or several answers, it is not uncommon for an answer containing useful informations to get negative votes and a completely useless one being highlighted on the question's page. Even if it does not happen on all pages, serious and well-written answers to questions on topics such as religion, faith, science or God, often get negative votes. Especially if they differ from a scientific consensus, mainstream media claims or if people have something against the topic.
For example, a serious answer to a question about the existence of God can receive a large number of negative votes if the question is viewed more by close-minded unbelievers than open-minded people. In such case low-quality answers will be displayed above better ones. Also, an useless answer can get so many positive votes that it will be displayed right under the question, a place where only good answers should be seen.
