Psalm 79 laments the destruction of Jerusalem, and yet remains faithful to God.

Psalm 79 is one of the Psalms of the Exile, which also include Psalms 44, 74, 80, 85, 89, 102, 106, 123, and 137.[1]

After admitting at verse 8 that "we are brought very low," the Psalm concludes with this plea:[2]

And return to our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom

The reproach with which they have reproached You, O Lord.
So we Your people and the sheep of Your pasture
Will give thanks to You forever;
To all generations we will tell of Your praise.
