Project Honeypot is a web-based network of traps, using fake email addresses, false editable pages, and other methods to record the internet protocol addresses of malicious spam networks, when they try to perform illegal acts such as mass email spam, fraud, and other unsolicitated messages. It uses the information in a global blacklist, that is distributed to law enforcement agencies worldwide, to help curb spam. It also supports tracking of comment spammers, wiki spambots, and other malicious robots on the internet.
