PowerPoint word wrap

PowerPoint word wrap can fail when English text is typed on an Asian version of Windows. The problem is that Korean words which are too long can be broken anywhere, without a hyphen, while English words must remain unbroken or have a hyphen between syllables. The reason Korean words can be broken anywhere, is that each symbol consists of 2 to 4 letters, forming a syllable.

The solution is to reset the "language" of the offending text. In PowerPoint 2007, select the text (or paragraph?), and go to Review | Proofing | Language. (It's the 5th icon from the left, a globe over an open book with a red checkmark.) You may have to toggle back and forth between Korean and English to make this work.
