Pieter Willem Botha

Pieter Willem Botha (b.January 12, 1916-d.October 31, 2006) was the prime minister of South Africa from 1978 to 1984 and president from 1984 to 1989. He had loosen the apartheid-policy by legalizing marriages between whites and blacks and gave coloured people more political rights.[1] In his tenure he fought the African National Congress. Botha was an ally of Ronald Reagan.[2]
