People are animals

"People are animals" is a motto expressing one of the most influential views of human beings, i.e., that they are only animals and therefore have no supernatural aspects such as a soul, a spirit, or eternal life (see also life after death). The errant view of evolution is foundational to this spurious notion.

The modern animal rights movement is often cast as elevating the status of animals, but it can also be seen as lowering that of humans. Indeed, this may be the real intent of campaigns such as PETA.
