The Visual Album

Along with traditional music videos of the releases, the band also released a series of eleven videos (one featuring every song from the album except the title track) which it titled "The Visual Album".

The videos featured a family of three generations and the struggles they went through in life:

  • Videos 1-3 were set in 1969 and featured a young couple (the Figlios) who had just married. The wife (Faye) is expecting their first child when the husband is drafted into the Vietnam War; tragically he dies in combat before his son is born.
  • Videos 4-7 were set in 1999. The son (Charles) has a daughter (Sam), age nine, who's mother died shortly after giving birth. Sam has artistic talent, very similar to both of her grandparents. The loss has left Charles estranged from Faye, so much so that Sam does not even know she has a grandmother until she finally asks about her; the family is finally reunited. Faye passes away at the end of Video 7.
  • Videos 8-11 were set in "the present day" (2019). Sam is now estranged from Charles (even hiding alcohol use) but has a picture of Faye (and a key to the now-abandoned house). She goes there and remembers happier times, finally reuniting with her dad. In Video 11, the two realize neither of them has a need for the house but neither feels like they can sell it; at the very end (set "one year later") the house is shown as being a sanctuary for single mothers and their children.
