OneDrive
OneDrive is Microsoft's cloud drive which is provided with all Microsoft accounts. Users can store and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, and also invite others to view and/or edit at the same time. Most other kinds of files can also be stored here as well. OneDrive was previously named SkyDrive, but renamed after a British court ruled that this name violated a trademark held by the British Sky Broadcasting Group.[1]
Storage space
Individuals with free accounts are usually given 50GB, and offered the option to upgrade for more space. However, people who have Office 365 subscriptions, have unlimited space.[2]
Privacy
Some people are concerned about the privacy of what they store on cloud drives such as OneDrive. Additionally, Microsoft itself is not the most trusted company for privacy protection in the eyes on some people, especially with the release and promotion of Windows 10[3][4] In 2012, public concern was raised when a user was blocked from his own SkyDrive account for storing disallowed content in a private folder.[5] It is unclear if this has changed with the release of OneDrive, but some people are still concerned.
