Olivia Floyd

Annie Olivia Floyd (July 2, 1826 – December 8, 1905) was a Confederate spy during the American Civil War.

Olivia Floyd was the daughter of David and Sarah (Semmes) Floyd. After her brother Robert Floyd, who fought for the Confederacy, was killed in action Olivia began helping the war effort for the South as a spy. She often used a hollowed out toy boat that her brother Robert had made as a place to hold secret messages. An arrest warrant was taken out against her during the Civil War caused by her "disloyal" activities.[1]

In later life Olivia Floyd lived at Rose Hill at Port Tobacco in Charles Co., Maryland. Floyd died on December 8, 1905 in Maryland.
