North East Lincolnshire Council

North East Lincolnshire Council is a unitary authority that covers north-eastern Lindsey in the traditional county Lincolnshire. The council area for which it is responsible forms a part of the statistical region Yorkshire and the Humber and is called North East Lincolnshire. The area was, along with other parts of northern Lindsey and south-east Yorkshire, under Humberside County Council between 1974 and 1996; the other councils that now cover the former Humberside council area are East Riding of Yorkshire Council (not to be confused with the East Riding of Yorkshire), Hull City Council and North Lincolnshire Council. The council area is administered from Grimsby, and other Lincolnshire towns within its area include the port of Immingham and the seaside resort Cleethorpes.
