The U.S. National Hurricane Center is a national organization that tracks tropical storms and hurricanes over the Atlantic, Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and the Eastern Pacific from May 15 through November 30.[1] Since 1953 the center has been naming storms with human names alphabetically. Originally only using female names, both males and females have been used starting in 1979.[2]
