Mossley is a town and civil parish in the foothills of the Pennines in north-western England. The town is notable for being spread across three counties, the north of the town being in Yorkshire (West Riding), the west being in Lancashire and the south and east being in Cheshire. The three counties meet in a 'Y' shape on the River Tame, with a residential street, Three Counties Road being spread across the 'Y'. Central Manchester lies approximately 10 miles to the west. The town has a population of around 11,000.
