Merseybeat

Merseybeat is an early British style of rock and roll music, originating in Liverpool. The style got its name from a popular local magazine, The Mersey Beat.

Merseybeat was influenced by blues, early rock, and skiffle. The most notable performers of Merseybeat were The Beatles and Gerry and the Pacemakers.
