The book gives evidence-based techniques on how one can change one's personality. The book documents on how she moved from having a high neuroticism (Particularly depression) and being an introverted personality to being a person who was a joyful/happy extroverted person. In addition, she increased her amount of agreeableness.
The author did things such as engaging in improvisational comedy and forcing herself to throw parties.
