Loan cap

A loan cap is the maximum interest rate that a loan can charge. It is common in banking to have loan caps for adjustable rate loans whereby the loan will never pass that rate.

The maximum can either be a number (I.E. 13.5%) or could itself be a variable amount such as the prime rate + 3.5%.
