The Lincoln Highway was a designated route between Time Square in New York City and Lincoln Park in San Francisco, California. It was the first marked route across the continent and was America's first national memorial to President Abraham Lincoln, predating the 1922 dedication of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., by nine years.
