Let's Go Crazy (song)

Let's Go Crazy is a song from the album Purple Rain, written and performed by Prince.

Somewhat common in his lyrics it contains religious imagery, and begins with a eulogy ("Ladies and gentlemen, we are here today to celebrate this thing called 'Life'") followed by a discussion of the afterlife ("where you will always see the sun day -- or night").

He also uses an interesting phrase: "de-elevator" to represent Satan ["we're not going to let 'de-elevator' bring us down (oh no lets go)], interesting in that Prince was found dead in the elevator of his Minneapolis home.
