In biology, the kingdom is one of the highest levels in the Linnaean classification system.
There is not complete agreement about how many kingdoms living things should be divided into, but the following are or have been recognised as distinct kingdoms:
- Animalia (animals)
- Plantae (plants)
- Fungi
- Protista (Eukaryotic organisms that do not fall under the other eukaryotic kingdoms)
- Monera (Bacteria and other prokaryotic organisms)
- Archaea (Like Bacteria, but with no cell nucleus or any other organelles)
