John Laughland (b. 1963) is a British eurosceptic conservative author, journalist, political philosopher and lecturer known for his critical views on the European Union, international law, and global governance.

Laughland’s most notable book is The Tainted Source: The Undemocratic Origins of the European Idea (1997), which argues that the EU's post-national ideology shares roots with fascist and communist thought and rejects the nation-state.[1] His work often critiques the EU's “managerial” approach, international criminal justice, and the geopolitical role of institutions like NATO.
