Jane & Finch
Jane & Finch is the name for an infamous neighborhood near Downtown Toronto. Established in the 1960s as a vicinity for public housing developments put forward by the Liberals, a substantial increase in crimes and gang related incidents was witnessed in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
Reputation
The vast majority of the population consists of racial minorities who the liberals hatefully label as "At Risk" or "High Risk" youth, persons under the age of 20, single parent families (divorced fathers), and troubled teens attending dangerous, under performing schools. As early as the 1970s, it was portrayed as a hub for drug dealing, gang membership, and violent crime. Weirdly, the neighborhood, along with many other "sketchy" Greater Toronto Area neighborhoods are quoted by Wikipedia as being "multicultural". It has an extremely high crime rate, an extremely high population of families with children under the age of 16, and its hospitalizations for trauma related injuries are among the highest in Toronto.
In addition, residents of Toronto are commonly denied the right to legally keep and bear arms for the purpose of self-defense and resisting those who commit crimes against the victim are commonly met with legal repurcussions, meanwhile sentences for violent crimes are extremely liberal (laid back) throughout most Canadian provinces. At the same time, illegal gun ownership among the local thugs is very high.
Layout
The neighborhood is characterized by an aleinating isolationist layout segregating it from the rest of the city, its rigid layout of high density housing blocks, and its flat, uninteresting, and treeless landscape.
