Jake used to be on the Disney show Bizaardvark, playing a character named Dirk^[2]. This is partially revealed in his song It's Everyday Bro.^[3]

Jake Paul has had rapid growth early on in YouTube, gaining five million subscribers in his first six months, and claims to be the first to have made such an achievement.^[4]
