A taharrush is a form of mass sexual assault by a roving gang. The term arose in Egypt, where the problem is associated with Tahrir Square in Cairo. On New Year's Eve 2015, there was a major outbreak perpetrated by mostly North African migrants in the German city of Cologne.[1]
