Hexhamshire, historically the County of Hexham, is an area of southern Northumberland that was a county palatine and royal liberty from the 11th until the 16th century. It is one of only two English counties to be abolished, the other being Winchcombshire in south-western England.
Despite no longer being a county, the name remains in use for a civil parish immediately south-west of Hexham (covering a much smaller area than the former county) and the Hexhamshire Moors.
