Guilt trip is an idiom denoting someone's words or actions that are designed to make another person feel guilty or ashamed. The sense in which it is used is generally "Laying a guilt trip on [someone]".
No actual trip or journey is involved—it's just an expression.
The term may be partly derived from the drug culture of a few decades back, when the hallucinations resulting from taking hallucinogenic drugs such as LSD were called an "LSD trip".
