Generative AI is a category of artificial intelligence that generates original content in the form of text, images, media, video, speech, music, product designs, and even software programming, as requested or guided by a series of prompted inputs. Generative AI can also learn from its own work to produce increasingly improved output.
Generative AI came into greater public awareness in 2023, with the public release of OpenAI's GPT-4 model, and ChatGPT.
