Frederica Wilson (born November 5, 1942), a Democrat, is the United States Representative from Florida's 24th congressional district. She was first elected to the House in 2010 to represent the 17th district, succeeding Kendrick Meek, who retired to run for the U.S. Senate. Before that, Wilson was a member of the Florida Senate and the Florida House of Representatives.

Early Life and Education

Wilson was born to Beulah Finley and Thirlee Smith in Overtown, a community near Miami, Florida, and raised in Liberty City.[1]
