Fred Noonan

Frederick Joseph Noonan (April 4, 1893 – missing and presumed dead July 2, 1937) was an American pilot, flight navigator, sea captain and aviation pioneer. He is best known for serving as the navigator on Amelia Earhart's attempted around-the-world flight, from which he never returned. He and Earheart were last seen in Lae, New Guinea on 2 July 1937, shortly befeore their disappearance somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. He was declared dead on June 20, 1938.
