Franco Parisi
Franco Parisi Fernández (b. Santiago, 25 August, 1967) is a Chilean business engineer and economist who ran for President in 2013 and 2021 obtaining the third place in the last one. He is the leader of the People's Party, a center and economically liberal party that supports lower taxes, higher mining royalty, lower salaries for politicians.
The strategy of the party is mainly focused on social media, in 2021 Parisi didn't even arrive to Chile since he lives in Alabama, United States, he was accused of not having paid alimony for his children.[1][2]
He criticized Boric's Government for retiring Chilean military personel from the Chilean Embassy in Israel saying: "The potential severing of diplomatic relations with the State of Israel not only represents a historic step backward, but also sends a dangerous signal about the direction your government is taking. Israel is a friendly nation, a strategic partner in technology, science, and defense, and a staunch defender of the democratic values we share".[3]
