People have been criticizing the Barbie doll for years, saying it sends the wrong message to girls. You have to be sexy-looking to attract male attention. Having large breasts is the ideal.
There's even a music video by Aqua with sexually suggestive lyrics
- Girl: "You can ... undress me everywhere"
- Boy: "You're my doll."
- Girl: "Do whatever you please." [1]
This sounds less like guidance on how to have a good marriage than an invitation to fantasize about premarital sex.[1] Is this what we want for American adolescents?
There's a movie which asserts that Barbie is intended to be a role model for girls.
