Emmett Till

Emmett Louis Till (July 25, 1941 – August 28, 1955) was an African-American teenager who was lynched in Mississippi at the age of 14 after allegedly flirting with a white woman.
The woman's husband and his brother were later acquitted of the murder. Years later, the woman confessed that she had lied about Till's conduct.[1]
Bob Dylan later wrote a folk song about the case.[2]
