Emma Watson
Emma Watson, born on 15 April 1990, in Paris, France, is a British actress, model, and Feminist activist. The actress got her breakthrough role as a child in the hugely successful Harry Potter film franchise. Watson grew up on camera as she reprised her role as one of Harry Potter's best friends, Hermione Granger, throughout the entire course of the film series. After committing to the Harry Potter movies for a decade, Watson was appointed as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in 2014, and helped launch the HeForShe campaign, which is the United Nations front for Feminism.
In 2012, it was reported that Emma Watson preferred American over British men, because the former were more brusque: "But now Emma Watson has said she doubts she will date a British man ever again – because they are too shy. […] Instead an American will come up to her straight away and suggest a date – a boldness she finds attractive."[1]
In 2013, Emma Watson was branded a hypocrite, in some quarters, after ads she did for Lancome's Blanc Expert skin lightening cream and for preferring the alpha male over the submissive beta male.[2]
On 20 September 2014, in her speech as UN Women Goodwill Ambassador at the launching of the HeForShe campaign, Emma Watson preached: "If men don’t have to be aggressive in order to be accepted women won’t feel compelled to be submissive. If men don’t have to control, women won’t have to be controlled."[3]
In December 2014, after a year-long relationship, Emma Watson splited from her rugby player boyfriend Matthew Janney. He was voted the best looking player on his rugby team on Twitter.[4]
