Emma is a 1974 song by the British soul band Hot Chocolate. It would reach #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #3 in the band's UK home.

Sung in first person (the singer does not give his name), it tells of the relationship between Emma (full name: Emmalene) and the singer. They first meet at age 5, when she tells everyone she will someday be a movie star (nobody laughs, as she is quite talented).

The two marry at age 17, working to make her dreams come true. However, she never gets her "big break", leading her to fall into depression, and ultimately on a "cold and dark December night" she takes her own life, feeling unable to "keep living on dreams no more".
