Dutch energy is the least renewable -- 27 out of 27 -- of any EU country. In 2020 only 11.1% of Dutch energy was from renewable sources.
The Netherlands is traditionally the country most experienced with windmills, but they have been used primarily for non-energy purposes such as pumping out flood water. Much of the Netherlands is below sea level.
